Pre-Operative Instructions Regarding Your Anesthesia

Where to Park:

Please park your car in the Patient Pick-up parking on the side of the building.

All Surgeries

Take any prescribed medications and wear loose, comfortable clothing. Remove nail polish, makeup, and jewelry. Long hair should be tied back. Bring your inhaler if needed, wear glasses instead of contact lenses, and if you bring children, have two responsible adults present. If you would like to listen to your own music during the procedure, you may bring your music player with small earphones.

Local Anesthesia

You'll be awake but numb during surgery. Have a light meal before surgery and plan for rest afterward.

Oral Premedication

Take medication as directed before surgery, have a light meal six hours prior, and arrange for a driver to and from surgery.

Intravenous Sedation

No eating or drinking after midnight before surgery. Arrange for a driver and plan for rest afterward. Must be monitored by a responsible adult for 24 hours post-surgery.

Deep Sedation/General Anesthesia

Similar instructions to intravenous sedation apply. Recovery may take longer.

Post-Op Appointments

For wisdom teeth extraction, stay in the area for at least a week after surgery. Arrange for follow-up appointments approximately two weeks post-surgery.
